Sustainable Cascadian Transportation
While sustainability pundits will debate the relative sustainability of Biodiesel (which politics I won’t go into here), all I can say is that it’s nice to see that a trans-Cascadian, semi-sustainable transport service has been established in the form of Shared Route, who run buses from Portland to Olympia and Seattle and back, with space for bikes and pets. You can make a reservation, or in true NW techno-granola style, just show up with your road bike and crate of records and get on the bus first-come-first served. Seattle or bust!

Good to know about this! As gas prices get to be more, hopefully more little companies like this one will develop, and people won’t need cars as much for those spur-of-the-moment weekend trips which are one reason I think a lot of people in our age group are hanging onto them. Too bad about the paint job though.
