Dance All Night, Ponies—an Orac Megamix

image

Orac turns 25 in two weeks.  With the release of Quenum’s “Acalanto / Glasgow” on 17 September, we will have helped bring 25 releases into the world.  We thought this would be a good time to stop and reflect, to put new and old together and see what happened.  So we asked one of the foremost new minds in US techno, our good friend Jamespatrick from Minneapolis, and he put together a really knee-bending musical document that combines bits of our all-time favorite Orac tracks together into one musical thread.  It’s an hour long, and a high-quality 320k MP3, and it’s free.

Jamespatrick is a promoter, producer, and player of heard and unheard musics, pushing the boundaries of technology-music into new realms.  Veteran of shows alongside virtually every artist in experimental/minimal techno, and now helping direct a substantial music movement in the Midwest.  He teaches technology music at Minneapolis’ Institute of Production and Recording and is creative director for the Vitalvinyl store, Secrettechno events, and label Microphono. “Warehouse parties that blow minds” is the bottom line!  Visit MPLS sometime and be sure to wear a helmet!
